Nick Diaz Calls GSP Pampered And Heats Up The Upcoming UFC 158 Fight

nick diaz ufc 158 interview metalmulisha Nick Diaz Calls GSP Pampered And Heats Up The Upcoming UFC 158 Fight

Next Saturday Metal Mulisha’s Nick Diaz will step into the octagon challenging the long awaited match-up against Georges St-Pierre. It’s the third time the UFC has booked the fight. The two were scheduled to meet in October 2011 and again in February, but both bouts fell through, mostly due to a torn ACL injury suffered by St-Pierre. What started out as a press conference really fired up Diaz portraying welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre as being pampered, railing on how mixed martial arts fights have become boring, and being mad at what is being said when it comes to promoting the March 16th title fight in Montreal.

You can listen to the whole interview or get straight to the point and scroll over to 26:15 to listen to Nick get fired up.

Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre will square off on March 16th in the UFC 158 main event at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Make sure to visit our store and pick up the Nick Diaz UFC 158 Vanquish Walkout Tee.

Interview with Toni Bou - X-Trial Champion!

"It is a great moment for me because I surpassed one of my idols"The Repsol rider, at only 26-year-old, already shows in his track record a total of 13 Trial World Championship titles –7 X-Trial and 6 Outdoor–.The most successful rider in history. That is Toni Bou's title since last weekend. The victory achieved last Saturday in Bielefeld (Germany) allowed him to secure the indoor World Championship for the seventh consecutive time. With this new success, the Repsol rider has 13 World Championships under his belt, a feat no other rider in history had achieved before. With this thirteenth title, now you can say you are the most successful rider in history. How do you feel?"For me is a really great happiness to have won so many World Championships. When you win a title, the first feeling is always strange, then you start to slowly feel the happiness and enjoy it more and more during the weekend. This is amazing, I'm very happy, this was one of my aims for this season."On Saturday you won your seventh outdoor World Championship, does this title have the same value as the last six?"This last World Championship is very important for me. The first is, of course, very special, but after that one, I think this seventh title is the most important, because it is a historical record. It is amazing because I was able to surpass some riders that were my idols. It is a great moment for me."During these four X-Trial World Championship rounds there were areas that only you were able to finish. How do you explain that?"The daily work is very important. Apart from that we worked a lot to have the best bike and we have it, so I must thank the team for that."At Sheffield you won for just 1 point over the second, but in Malaga they were 21 points, in Barcelona 14 and in Bielefeld, 12. You also have 20 consecutive wins in this series. Did you really suffer to win those rounds?"Especially in Sheffield the start was very difficult, as Albert Cabestany pushed until the end, until the very last zone. It is true that I achieved a bit more than my rivals, but with the new rules, –qualifying, semi-final and final– everything is very fast and it seems you can lose the win at any moment. Then you see the points and there is some advantage, but is always dangerous."It is more or less easy to imagine how a rider trains for the Outdoor Trial, but in this case, how do you train for these series?"Usually riders try to have a place used for this discipline near our residence. We try to change zones a bit, because the indoor trial is the speciality that has evolved the most in the last years."Is it true that a great base for your training is the biketrial? Why?"Yes, especially for the indoor. It is a discipline where we work a lot with the bicycle because it is amazing how it has evolved and the motorcycle is always behind."What is more important: the technique, the bike, concentration or physical work? What are the key reasons for your sporting success?"Concentration is really important, although before you need to do specific physical work and that's key with the bike. In the indoor rounds we had a lot of novelties in the last years, with very high walls. You need a very consistent bike to control and pass the stones on one wheel and then enough power to climb high walls."Do you dedicate this seventh X-Trial World Championship to anyone in particular?"As always, I dedicate it to the people that support me: my family, my girlfriend, my friends and, above all, my team. They worked a lot and they always help me".The video on Youtube HERE

Mika Ahola " Brave One " Trophy

During the offseason, numerous riders as David KNIGHT (GB – Honda) or Antoine MEO (F – KTM) expressed their will to win this 2nd Mika Ahola "Brave One" Trophy. And current winner Christophe NAMBOTIN (F – KTM), was decided to defend his belt. After the two first GP, that took place in Chile and Argentina on Enduro Tests very technical and different than riders are facing in Europe, a first hierarchy is set up…Ivan CERVANTES, bis repetita…As last year at the same date, "El Torito" Ivan CERVANTES (E – KTM) is the very first leader of the Trophy with 63 points, thanks to his regularity and some ease in these track type (4/3/3/1). But the surprise of this start of the season Alex SALVINI (I – HM Honda), is not so far from him. Indeed, only 1 point separates the Spanish to the Italian who surprised all the observers.Behind them, the Husaberg rider Pierre-Alexandre RENET (winner on Saturday in Chile and Argentina) is still threating them just like Antoine MEO, David KNIGHT and Johnny AUBERT (F – KTM)…2012 Trophy's winner, Christophe NAMBOTIN (F – KTM) had some difficulties in the Enduro Tests of Cerro La Virgen (Talca) and Ullum (San Juan) and he is only 10th with 22 points…      But it is just the start of the season and everything remains to be done. All those riders will meet again on the 11th and 12th of May in Puerto Lumbreras (Spain) and the 18th and 19th of May in Torres Vedras (Portugal) for the Mika Ahola "Brave One" Trophy, where they will again battle it out in memory of the great champion.Standing: 1. Ivan CERVANTES (E) 63pts ; 2. Alex SALVINI (I) 62pts ; 3. Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F) 58pts ; 4. Antoine MEO (F) 53pts ; 5. David KNIGHT (GB) 48pts ; 6. Johnny AUBERT (F) 48pts ; 7. Juha SALMINEN (SF) 30pts; 8. Matti SEISTOLA (SF) 26pts; 9. Joakim LJUNGGREN (S) 24pts; 10. Christophe NAMBOTIN (F) 22pts.

Go Pro Moto – QLD Moto Park MX1 Motocross

Some footage from my Go Pro Moto helmet cam. Riding a CRF450 on motocross track 1 at Queensland Moto Park. The track is rutted and has the normal braking and acceleration bumps as it doesn’t seem to be prepped that often. Like track two it has a handful of table tops but with a mix of tight and wide corners and short straights.

Overall the track is not bad considering what off road riding parks are available in Queensland.

Double Delight For Salvini

Italy's Alex SALVINI (Honda) continued his winning ways in the Maxxis Enduro World Championshipwith a stunning victory on day two at the GP Maxxisof Argentina. France's Antoine MEO (KTM)collected his fourth Enduro 1 class win of the season while Estonia's Aigar LEOK (TM)delivered a winning result in the Enduro 3 category in San Juan. In the Enduro Junior class, Italy's Rudi MORONI (KTM) secured his debut EWC win while Britain's Jamie MCCANNEY (Husaberg) topped the Enduro Youth Cup. Following his breakthrough win at the GP of Chile, Alex SALVINI has now cemented himself as one of the main championship contenders for this year's Enduro 2 class title. Proving incredibly fast and consistent during day two in Argentina, the Honda rider won eight of the day's 13 special tests to secure his second victory of the weekend. "It feel's incredible to have won again," told a delighted SALVINI. "I felt comfortable with my bike and was able to ride how I wanted to. Taking three wins in South America is unbelievable for me – now my goal is to keep working hard when the series returns to Europe." Following his disappointment of fourth on day one, Spain's Ivan CERVANTES (KTM) bounced back to place as runner-up to SALVINIon day two. Unable to completely close the gap to SALVINI, CERVANTE Sfinished just eight seconds behind the Honda rider. Looking fast during the early part of the day, France's Pela RENET (Husaberg)saw his chance of victory disappear with a costly crash on the technical enduro test. He recovered to end his day in third. Unable to repeat his podium result from day one, France's Johnny AUBERT (KTM)placed fourth, while Manxman David KNIGHT (Honda) fought through the pain of an injured finger to finish fifth. In the Enduro 3 category, it was Aigar LEOK that claimed the win. Capitalising on a problem by class leader Christophe NAMBOTIN's KTM, LEOKgladly inherited the race lead on the final lap. Making no mistakes on the final enduro test, the TM Racing rider secured victory. "I'm so happy to have won," confirmed LEOK. "Unfortunately Nambotin had a problem but last week I also had mine. Today I made no mistakes and rode as hard as I could. It feel's fantastic to leave South America with a win." Although matching the pace of LEOKthroughout most of the day, Sweden's Joakim LJUNGGREN (Husaberg)couldn't close the gap to the TM rider and ended his day as runner-up. Italy's Manuel MONNI (KTM) delivered a solid day of racing to take his first podium result of the season with third place. Despite setting the fastest time in 11 of the day's 13 special tests, NAMBOTIN's problems in the final cross test robbed him of victory and pushed him back to fourth position. Portugal's Luis CORREIA (Beta) completed the top five. In the Enduro 1category the fight for victory was between Antoine MEO and Finland's Juha SALMINEN (Husqvarna). With little to separate the duo throughout the day, it was MEO's stunningly fast time in the final enduro test that delivered him victory. "Juhaand myself fought hard for the win," remarked MEO. "I found it hard to find a good rhythm in the morning but began to feel more comfortable as the day progressed. I gave it everything I had in the final enduro test and thankfully it was enough to win." Fast and consistent during the day, SALMINENprovided quite a challenge to MEO. But unable to match MEO's time in the final test, the Husqvarna rider was forced to settle for second. Securing his second podium result of the weekend, Finland's Matti SEISTOLA (Husqvarna)finished third. In the battle for fourth position, Italy's Simone ALBERGONI (Honda) narrowly beat fellow countryman Thomas OLDRATI (Husaberg)by less than one second to take fourth with OLDRATIrounding out the top five. On day two in Argentina a new winner emerged in the Enduro Junior class with Rudi MORONI (KTM) taking the win. Day one victor, Australian Matt PHILLIPS (Husqvarna)placed 14 seconds behind the Italian to claim the runner-up result. Manxman Danny MCCANNEY (Gas Gas)secured his second podium finish of the weekend with third place. Sweden's Robert KVARNSTROM (Beta) placed fourth with Italy's Giacomo REDONDI (KTM) rounding out the top five. Manxman Jamie MCCANNEY (Husaberg)earned his second win of the weekend with a 16-second margin of victory in the Enduro Youth Cup class. Italy's Dawid CIUCCI (Husaberg) ended his day as runner-up. Chile's Benjamin HERRERA (TM)completed the top three. The Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship returns to Europe for round three of the series with the GP AMV Segurosof Spainon May 11/12.
