San Marino MotoGP this weekend will be the last home race for Valentino Rossi as a Ducati rider. The Italian rider will return to the Yamaha Factory Racing next year.
Rossi stayed in Tavullia, just a few kilometers from the Misano circuit is now also named Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. There, Rossi won the race with Yamaha in 2088 and 2009. While last year, he finished in seventh position with Ducati.
"Misano is one of the two series of cages for the Italian rider. So there will be many fans there, the atmosphere is also definitely special. Trajectory itself is very challenging and difficult, but I really liked it," said Rossi.
Rossi, who has never won a victory and won just two podiums since 2011, has conducted a series of tests with Ducati. Mugello circuit in some time ago, he tested the new chassis and swingarm.
"Misano having fun sectors, such as Tramonto corner. We should work fine since the practice session by undergoing a fun race," he concluded.
Now Rossi is ranked eighth in the driver standings. His teammate, Nicky Hayden is still a hand injury caused by an accident in Indianapolis, is scheduled to return to race at Misano.
